IN last week's midweek games played, Penlake added another win and three points to their championship winning total in the Star Premiership by securing a 0-1 away win over at Rainford North End.

Carrs Hotel added another win to their Division One championship record by winning 3-1 at Gerard Arms thanks to goals by Craig Jones, Alex Power and Jay Taylor.

In Hatton Travel Division Two games, Darren Cunliffe (2) and Andy Gearing goals resulted in a 3-0 away win for Moss Bank at Grove, but once again - Orange House target man supreme Barry Kenyon hit all three goals for them in a narrow 3-2 win over Lingley (Lee Calland and Dan Caldwell).

Once prolific scorer for Top Nogs, Shaun Moon, at last found his form, but his, and another by Ged Feeney (penalty) were not enough as Carborundum Eagles took the game 2-4.

On Saturday, the second semi-final of the D H Griffiths Cup resulted in an easy 6-1 success for Penlake over the Hotel, Penlake's scorers being, Frank Jeffers (2), Paul Inman (2), James Jones and Anthony Carmichael.

They now meet Sidac this Saturday, April 24 in a 2-15pm kick off at Ruskin Drive in the final. - Sidac, a fine mixture of youth and experience, could certainly cause an upset if they play with the commitment they have shown that fits well their high premiership position.

It took an extra time half-hour before the Tom Worrall semi final at Ruskin Drive was settled with British Lion just outscoring the Pilkington A side by 2-1.

With the score 1-1 at 90 minutes with Mark Quinn's goal equalising for British Lion, the extra time brought many near misses before Craig Caldwell settled things for the Lion to win 2-1.

The other semi, played at Grange Park, ended with Junction joining British Lion in the final by virtue of a 2-1 advantage over Division Two Moss Bank, David Jacks and David Shaw scoring the important goals for Junction.
