MIDDLEWICH residents will be taking part in the first postal elections in Congleton Borough, which will take place in June.
Congleton Borough Council will be distributing pre-ballot cards within the next few days, which explain the new system.
The aim is to make voting easier for everyone and registered electors will receive ballot packs by the end of May.
The pack includes two ballot papers - one for the local election and one for the European elections - as well as a declaration of identity for both elections.
These forms can be completed at any time up to and including election day on Thursday, June 10.
Once electors have voted and completed the identity declaration, they should simply post the ballot papers back to the borough council.
Ballot papers can also be hand delivered to any of the borough council's Information Offices during normal office hours.
In addition, Sandbach Information Office at Westfields, Sandbach, will be open on June 10 from 7am to 10pm and staff will also be able to help voters complete their ballot papers if required.
