ASPIRING Halton High pupils visited the dreaming spires of Oxford to get a taste of what could be theirs if they fulfil their potential.
The six Year 10 pupils spent two days learning about college life at St Hugh's.
They tried university food and accommodation and also learned about student grants and the different degrees on offer.
The highlight of the visit was a forensic science lecture from an expert on soil types whose most recent work was on the Ian Huntley case.
Alex Gillespie from Halton High said: "It is hoped that these pupils will be motivated to strive for success and apply to university.
"They realise that three grade As at A Level are required to apply for the majority of degree courses at Oxford and that competition is intense.
"But we wish all the best to Jack Price, Tony Williams, Simon Fielding, Gemma Clarke, Danielle Verry and Jennifer Jones."
