PLANS to increase visitors to Myddleton Mere have been presented to Winwick Parish Council by Groundwork Mersey Valley.
Groundwork told the council that the owner of Myddleton Mere would like to develop the site and stock the lake with fish to encourage more visitors.
Winwick Parish Council has pledged £2,500 per year for the next five years to help develop the site and Groundwork is going to improve access to it.
Les Higgins, parish council clerk, said: "The plan is to open up the site more to the public, so more people will be able to enjoy visiting the mere."
