WORRIED Callands residents have lobbied parish councillors over plans for a restaurant on Europa Boulevard.

More than 20 people packed into April's parish council meeting to voice fears about increased noise and pollution if the industrial site is allowed to change its use.

Planning permission for 262 Europa Boulevard is being sought to change it into a restaurant. Clr Tina Cross, chairman of Westbrook and Callands Parish Council, agreed with residents' concerns.

She said: "Traffic has been a nightmare recently. I must agree that allowing a restaurant will set a precedent for a change of use for the whole area. The parish council fully supports your objections and will write to the council as well."
