SAINTS coach Ian Millward says he is not tempted to 'stand down' any of his troops for Friday night's Super League game with Wakefield. (8pm)

He wants to keep up the winning momentum all the way up to Cardiff - and is expected to name a similar squad to the one that thrashed league leaders Leeds last Friday night.

The only doubts he has are over second rower Chris Joynt, who picked up a slight knock to his leg during his phenomenal tackling stint.

Millward does have Samoan wing Dom Feaunati available after completing his three-match ban for his role in the Good Friday brawl.

Millward said: "My biggest problem at the moment is that three or four players who have injuries have knocked on my door and said they want to play.

"We will pick our strongest team possible - and expect it to resemble the winning line-up from Friday.

"I might have to make a change to give Dom a run, but that is a positive rather than a negative."

Sean Long, who has played just under an hour in each of the last two games will play, but Millward says he may put Carl Forber on the bench to give him a run out after his impressive show against Salford.

"Sean is getting the job done - but I don't want to tip him over the edge," Millward said.

Wakefield have strung together some impressive performances so far this season, which have impressed Millward.

He said: "David Solomona and Sid Domic have been tremendous buys for them. Their biggest problem has been consistency and they seem to be getting that right. They have a big pack, with a lot of front rowers, who can cause teams problems.

"I expect this game to be very hard. I need not only to get two points, but to stay on a confident roll and rhythm on the road to Cardiff."

Millward said he will pick his 19 man squad for Cardiff on Monday, although he already has his first 17 in the back of his mind.

And he revealed that if he continues his form of recent weeks this Friday, Keith Mason will be one of the first names on the sheet.

"His last three games have been outstanding, so Keith has got himself into a position now. If he carries that against Wakefield - he will start in the final.

"In my mind I have 17 picked for Cardiff, but if some are off the pace this weekend I have that flexibility. We will also have Jon Wilkin and Dom back in the frame," Millward said.

H Saints' allocation of cup final tickets has sold out. Although Wigan are believed to have some remaining, the final looks set to be a sell out, with as many as 20,000 believed to be sold in Wales.

HCoach travel is £30 and leaves Knowsley Road at 7am. Coaches leave the Millennium Stadium one hour after the final hooter.

HEx-Saints forward Len Hammill, who was signed from Bramley in 1960, will be belatedly presented with his Yorkshire cap after Saints' game against Wakefield on Friday.

The official presentation was overlooked at the time, and chairman Eamonn McManus will put the matter right before Len's family and friends.

Now aged 70, front rower Hammill also played for Featherstone Rovers and lives at Farsley, near Leeds.

HThe St Helens Cup Final will be played at Knowsley Road on Wednesday May 12 (7.15pm).

The winners of the semi-final between Haydock A and Pilks Recs will meet Haydock in the final.

Pilks defeated Thatto Heath A 12-8 in Tuesday night's quarter final.
