THE winger signed from South Sydney is proving to be a class act at centre or full back for Warrington Wolves and he could be named in either slot against Leeds tomorrow, Friday.

Australian Brent Grose showed his adaptability in the space of two games on his return from an ankle injury.

He crossed for two tries from the centre spot in the draw with Bradford Bulls last week but switched to full back midway through the first half of Sunday's game against Huddersfield and impressed.

The 25-year-old swept up kicks well and cleared his lines in devastating fashion but unfortunately it was not enough to help his side chop the Giants down to size.

He said: "I'd much prefer to be in the centres but wherever Paul Cullen wants me to play is where I'll play to do what I can for the team."

The former Cronulla rookie of the year is looking for Wolves to put their Huddersfield disappointment behind them in a bid to give Leeds a tough game.

Grose said: "Leeds are a great side. They're well coached but we usually play well at Leeds. We played well up there last year and there's no reason why we can't do it again this year."

He impressed in both of Warrington's 30-20 and 34-26 losses at Headingley last season and has spotted a warning sign for the team to take notice of this time round.

Grose said: "It probably didn't do us any favours with Leeds copping a hiding like they did at St Helens on Friday. They're going to be looking at turning that round but so are we after our Huddersfield disappointment."

He hopes Wolves will go into tomorrow's game with lessons learned.

Grose said: "It was a wake-up call for us. We've just got to move on and pick up some mental toughness along the way because we've got several tough games coming up and we can't afford to play like we did against Huddersfield."

Head coach Paul Cullen was fuming after the defeat to the Giants and showed it when talking to his players as they warmed-down.

Grose said: "Cull does that from time to time when we deserve it and Sunday was one of them days. He just tells it how it is, we all take note and move on."

Grose went into the Huddersfield game with a new jet-black hair do rather than the usual brown but it was not to his initial liking.

He said: "My Mrs went to town on it on Saturday night. I was up first thing on Sunday trying to find a hairdresser to cut it all off but they were all shut. It's not something I'm worrying about. I'm only thinking about footy at the moment."
