LYMM Rugby Club reached the final of an invitation 10-a-side competition held at Winnington Park to boost the John Blower Trust fund.
John Blower, a 44-year-old Northwich RUFC player, is paralysed from the neck down following an accident during a match against Warrington at Warrington Sports Club last December.
Northwich and near neighbours Winnington Park have joined forces to organise a series of fund-raising events to raise money for John and his family with a target figure set of £150,000.
This rugby tournament was one of them and Lymm shone with a young squad led by new club captain Chris Kinsey and 23-year-old Simon Walter, the oldest player in their side.
En route to the final Lymm defeated Chester 14-12 with tries from Kinsey and Knowles, Wigan 12-0 with tries by Wright and Millington, Barclay's Radbroke Hall 22-0 with tries by Millington, Worsley, Lag and Birch, Southport 10-7 with two tries by Birch, Northwich 21-5 with tries by Knowles, Millington and Williamson.
In the final they went down to host club Winnington Park 17-0.
Squad: Chris Kinsey, Lewis Hollington, Simon Walter, Adam Lester, Luke Worsley, Andy Williamson, Toim Birch, Stuart Wright, Lee Price, Tristan Laga, Joe Knowles, John Millington.
