NATASHA Podmore has become the youngest golfer in the history of the sport to pull off the Cheshire treble.

The 16-year-old from Appleton won the Cheshire Women's Championship in Prestbury this week to become the top seed in the county.

She also won the qualifying event at Prestbury Golf Club plus the Cheshire Junior Championship Cup two weeks earlier.

Sandra Podmore, Natasha's mum, said: "It is quite an achievement to win all three events at such a young age.

"Natasha loves playing golf and she is really looking forward to being coached by Butch Harman in June.

"He is Tiger Woods' coach and every year he holds a master class at The Belfry.

"Fifteen girls and 15 boys are selected for the class and Natasha is delighted to have been chosen."

A trip to the Texas Golf Academy awaits if Natasha shines at The Belfry in June.

Sandra said: "Two girls and two boys from the master class will compete in America for a week.

"That would be a great opportunity for Natasha and she will be giving it her best shot to make it."

Natasha, who is a member of High Legh Golf Club near Warrington, will be competing in the Nick Faldo Series at Carden Park today, Thursday.

She plays for Cheshire's A team and she is also on the north west training squad for the English Ladies Golf Association.
