WARRINGTON is the jewel in the north west's crown.

Lord Hoyle addressed the House of Lords during a debate on the Sustainable Communities programme - a Government scheme to pump millions of pounds into the north west region to improve economic opportunities and employment.

And he used the Warrington-based Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) to show how joined-up thinking can help to revitalise communities.

He said that having the NWDA based in Warrington, at Centre Park, was a boon to the town.
