POLICE are hunting two men who assaulted a coach driver after the Rugby League Challenge Cup semi-final clash between St Helens and Huddersfield Giants at The Halliwell Jones Stadium in Warrington.
A 45-year-old man was driving a minibus, taking Huddersfield supporters home following their defeat by the Saints on Sunday, April 25.
Three men banged on the closed door of the coach at around 5.30pm as the driver stopped outside Russell Furnishings on Buttermarket Street. The driver was left with a severely bruised eye and other facial injuries after two of the men entered the coach and assaulted him.
Anyone with information on the attack should contact PC Steven Wood on 01244 350000.
