THE emergency services were called into action last week when two men threatened to throw themselves from different bridges on the same day.
The first incident took place on Wednesday, at Myddleton Lane, Winwick, when a man threw himself on to the Winwick Link Road below.
Police were called out at 4.28pm and closed off both roads and Highfield Lane. The man was taken to Warrington Hospital but he did not suffer any serious injuries.
The roads were reopened and traffic was flowing again by 5.40pm.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were then called to a second incident at 8.17pm at Stockton Heath swing bridge, where a man was threatening to hurl himself into the Manchester Ship Canal.
The man was talked down and taken to Warrington Hospital, and police took no further action.
