A FORMER Warrington schoolboy who butchered his father in a crazed samurai swords attack will learn his fate tomorrow, Friday.

Seventeen-year-old Daniel Leather, who claims Satan made him carry out the stabbing, is due to appear before the High Court in Glasgow.

The teenager, who moved to Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire, in 1995, knifed his father in Scotland six times in November last year.

When his mother, Margaret, returned home hours later he grabbed her around the neck and wrestled her to the ground, warning her that he could kill her.

In April, Leather pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of culpable homicide (manslaughter) as the court heard that he suffered from a depressive mental illness.

The defendant's behaviour had become increasingly bizarre since moving to Scotland in 1995 where he was bullied because of his accent.

He began giving his family Nazi salutes before the attack on his father, John, who was training in childcare and psychology.

Defence barrister Donald Findlay QC, said two psychiatrists found that Leather had a depressive illness that gave him a belief his parents hated him.
