SOLDIERS from the Queen's Lancashire Regiment, which recruits troops from Warrington, are facing tough questions about the alleged torture of Iraqi prisoners.
The Ministry of Defence has launched an inquiry into photographs supplied by The Mirror newspaper that appear to show British soldiers beating and urinating on an Iraqi prisoner.
The regiment recruits soldiers from across the county including the old south and east Lancashire areas and Warrington.
The pictures, handed over by British soldiers in the Queen's Lancashire Regiment, have provoked a worldwide outrage but some people have questioned the authenticity of the photographs.
