Mrs Ellen Mary Ellam, wife of the late Mr Norman Ellam, died of a heart attack on January 18, aged 92.
Mrs Ellam, of St John's Court, lived in Warrington all her life. She was employed as a tea lady at Padgate College for many years, and during the Second World War she worked for NAAFI, RAF Padgate.
Mrs Ellam was a lifelong member of St Alban's and St Oswald's RC Churches, being in the Women's confraternity and later the over-60s group. She was a member of the Co-operative Women's Guild and sang in its choir, and was a keen whist player, playing at St Oswald's and Padgate Bowling Club.
In her younger days she enjoyed walking, swimming, tennis, dancing and dressmaking. She had also made several trips to Lourdes.
Mrs Ellam leaves a son, a daughter, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a daughter earlier this year.
A service was held on March 26 at St Oswald's RC Church, followed by interment in Warrington Cemetery. The Rev Father Canning officiated.
Arrangements were made by Knox & Son.
