A YOUNG man suffered wounds to his back after he was allegedly stabbed with a pair of pliers.
Paramedics and police were called to Mereland Way, Parr, at about 4.30am on Saturday and the victim, thought to be aged 19, was taken to Whiston Hospital.
An ambulance service spokesman said they had alerted doctors at Whiston of the injuries prior to his arrival at casualty.
A man was arrested by police on suspicion of wounding. However, it is not believed the victim is pursuing a complaint against him.
