I have very fond memories of the 1970s TV show of S.W.A.T. (repeats you understand, not the original showing).
So I was eagerly anticipating this remake. Having Samuel L Jackson as Hondo seemed like a good idea - so I was still looking forward to it.
Despite the appearance of Colin Farrell I was still excited. Until I perused the box and, to my horror, those fateful words appeared: "From the producers of The Fast and the Furious and xXx."
My heart sank like a fat bloke on a beanbag.
I thought I was in for one hour and 52 minutes of totally implausible, predictable, childish tripe that would completely ruin my evening.
I wasn't entirely right.
Admittedly you wouldn't need Sean Long to help you predict the score of this film but - other than that - it's not quite as dire as it could have been.
All your regular cop show characters make an appearance: the captain who does everything by the book, the maverick squad leader with no respect for authority and the tough woman cop who battles her way through a man's world.
And at some point I think someone even says: "I'll have your badge for this."
Farrell seems to be acting while in a coma but Samuel L is just his usual cool self.
If you were to pick the worst ten films you had ever seen this probably would not be in it - that's about as much praise as I can give it.
