THANKS to the even more selfish than usual actions of the office workers who use Hillside Road as their personal car park, last week council workers had a great deal of trouble trimming the verges and pruning trees.

'No parking' cones had been put out so this work could be carried out - not that they stopped a fair number of the 'regulars' who could be heard in agitated discussion before moving the cones and parking anyway. Given the extortionate amount of council tax I pay, I like to see the council actually doing something like trim the verges once in a while and resent these selfish parkers for preventing this from being completed properly.

I'm also sick of clearing the rubbish left by some of the parkers who sit and eat their lunch in their cars and then dump their rubbish on the grass.

If I'm expecting visitors, I have to park my car on the road the night before to 'save a space' for them.

Then there's the skip hire company that couldn't drop off or collect their skip from my drive; builders had to block the road to drop off materials - even supermarket delivery vans have problems parking.

It now also appears that the road is being used as airport parking.

That's the only reason I can come up with one car being parked on the road for, to date, two weeks.

I'd like to see parking restrictions brought in as soon as possible.

Let Knutsford's retailers benefit from people being able to park for a couple of hours while they do their shopping.
