TOTAL football Ajax-style it wasn't but Hale Juniors certainly came close as they mastered the Dutch in an international youth tournament.
The U14s dominated older opposition teams from all corners of the world and got to the final of the Amsterdam Cup without conceding a single goal!
"They had an excellent time and really enjoyed it," said proud coach, Jimmy Doran, who took them to Holland as a reward for a fantastic season.
"They got to the final last year but this time it was extra special because they did it without conceding a goal.
"The Amsterdam Cup is a big international tournament and it was a great experience for them to play against sides from many different countries."
Hale Juniors play in the Halton and Runcorn District League and won the Knowsley International competition last year.
