Parkside 223 for 3 dec
Knutsford 153 for 7
HIGH-FLYING Parkside deservedly came off best in this Division Three Cheshire League fixture in Macclesfield.
After an initial tidy opening spell by Sheldon and Baker, Knights and Gay assumed control with a positive response putting the visitors on the back foot.
Although Knutsford had little back up in the bowling department, they performed admirably and did all they could to restrict their hosts who pressed on relentlessly.
Demanding
Skipper Knight led the way with 91 before Baker earned his first wicket after Hamman had tempted Gay to top edge to keeper Morphet.
Sheldon was also rewarded in his second spell as the hosts declared early in an attempt to improve on recent good results.
Knutsford's response suffered an early setback when Perk's misjudgement saw Sheridan run out to bring Bewsher into the fray.
The visitors then put together a stand of 53 in steady fashion before Bewsher fell to a boundary catch with Perks also perishing in an attempt to keep pace with a demanding target.
The defensive tactics resulted in a draw.
Thanks to Bill Prosser for his match ball sponsorship for today's game.
