A TOURING theatre company arrives at Knutsford Little Theatre on Friday night.

From Here To Absurdity performs at the Queen Street theatre at 8pm as part of its warm-up tour for this year's prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The comedy sketch show was written by Manchester Grammar School teacher Rick Kelly.

He writes satirical sketches for Private Eye and the Spectator and makes occasional appearances at the Frog and Bucket comedy club in Manchester.

Rick teamed up with BBC producer Karen Hannah, corporate lawyer Helen Hyde and free-lance sound engineer Jim Harradine, two years ago to form From Here To Absurdity.

The quartet has since performed at numerous pubs, clubs and theatres across the north-west and are currently negotiating an autumn series with Radio 4.

Perfect

The team will perform 90 minutes of original sketches and adapted songs in Knutsford focussing on the assorted idiocies of everyday life.

Their subjects include prattish ramblers, dumbed-down chat shows, useless supermarkets, yobbish soccer fans, failing eyesight, death, birth, marriage and divorce.

"We think audiences in Knutsford will love the show," said Rick this week. "It seemed the perfect place to preview the show on the way to the festival."

If you enjoy the music of Elvis, Sinatra and Roxy Music then this show is for you.

Tickets, priced £5, for the show, which starts at 8pm, are available on 07786 280778 or on the door.
