THE funeral has taken place of Edward Patrick Venables, of Castle, who died on May 12, aged 90.
He was born in Dublin, the youngest in the family, having one brother and two sisters.
He was brought up in Dublin where he attended school.
Edward married Doris Pickering at St Wilfrid's RC Church, Northwich and they settled at Hunts Lock, Northwich.
Sadly Edward was widowed in 1988.
During his working life Edward was employed as a railway shunter at ICI. His interests included football and gardening.
He leaves son Philip.
A requiem mass at St Wilfrid's RC Church, celebrated by Canon Healey, was followed by interment at Northwich Cemetery.
Arrangements were by George Bell, Northwich.
