THE funeral has taken place of Joyce Norton, of Windsor Close, Cuddington, who died on May 18, aged 79.

Joyce was born at Cuddington Hollows and upon leaving Sandiway Council School, worked for ICI.

She and her husband Albert married at St John's Church, Sandiway, in 1946.

They first lived in Weaverham and then moved to Knutsford, where they spent 16 years.

Later, they moved to Barrow-in-Furness and she took a keen interest in her husband's work as an electrical draughtsman at Vickers Shipyard.

Upon retirement in 1988, Joyce and Albert returned to live in Cuddington and Sandiway, where she was well known in the village.

Joyce enjoyed travel, gardening and the countryside and had a wide circle of friends.

She was an honorary life member of Cross Town Bowling Club.

The Rev Gordon Roxby conducted the funeral service at St John's Church, Sandiway, followed by cremation at Walton Lea and committal at Gorstage Cemetery.

In addition to family floral tributes, donations were received for Winsford Grange Nursing Home.

Arrangements were by Nagle Brothers, Acton Bridge.
