THE funeral has taken place of Stanley Walker, of Northwich, who died on May 12, aged 77.
He was born in Seaforth, Liverpool, the second youngest of a family of 10 children, of the late Mary and James Walker.
He was brought up in Litherland, Liverpool, where he attended the secondary modern school in Beech Road.
Stanley married Doreen in 1987 at Northwich Register Office. They settled in Hartford, before moving to Queen Elizabeth House in Northwich.
During the Second World War Stanley was in the Merchant Navy and the Army. He worked as a roofer and his interests included dancing and playing darts.
He leaves Doreen, sons, daughters, stepfamily, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a brother and sister.
The service at St Helen's Church, Northwich, conducted by the Rev Paul Dawson, was followed by committal at Walton Lea Crematorium.
As well as family floral tributes, donations were received for ward one at Leighton Hospital.
