Thanks voters

CAN I, on behalf of all the Labour candidates in the Halton constituency, thank everyone who voted for the Labour Party in the recent local and European elections?

Although we were not as successful as we would have hoped I can assure the electorate that we will continue to contest every ward in the borough in the future elections, and try to recover the wards that were lost.

It is unfortunate that even though the elections were local and European, national issues were important in some people's minds. One thing is for sure, when we have dusted ourselves down, we will come out fighting again as our record in recent years is something to be proud of.

You only have to look at the improvements throughout the borough.

The Labour controlled council has achieved a lot over recent years, but still has a lot of ideas to improve the towns still further and will continue to move forward.

The Labour Party locally has never taken votes for granted, that is why I once again thank everyone who voted for us.

Bill Woolfall,

Chair, Halton Constituency
