READING the council's free magazine Inside Halton I was pleased to see Frank Myler on the front page, with the council due to confer Freedom of the Borough to him.
The council may have some faults but it is not often far from the mark when it comes to sport in recent years.
The fact that those in Whitehall can refuse to confer honours on genuine sporting legends in rugby league like Frank Myler is another example of the faults inherent in this country's honours system.
Granted many don't care about any honours from the Queen, but many do.
At least the local council understands and has done what it can to help right this wrong.
Congratulations Halton Council, I now look forward to reading about the new east stand for the stadium in your next issue.
Keep up the good work for the town.
