HOLLYWOOD here we come! That's the message from a talented group of Halton college students who are looking to break into show business as make-up artists to the stars!

The girls are studying theatrical and media make-up at the college's Runcorn campus and tutor Cathy Roche says they are well on their way to the big-time.

"The course has been a great success and the girls have managed to get some valuable work experience and made some good contacts," she said.

"The key for them now is to get their foot in the door at agencies and studios, make an impression, and win that first permanent job."

After showcasing their talents in a recent competition, the group will wrap up the year-long level three course before their bid to break into television, theatre or even film as qualified make-up artists.

Halton college also runs an introductory media make-up course on weekday evenings and is hoping to have hairdressing courses in place for next year.

Meanwhile, Cathy, who has worked for TV companies across the north west, including Mersey Television, is hoping for the same level of interest in next year's course - in particular the lads!

"We are always on the look out for more students and we could do with a few lads on the course to balance thing up," she said.

"A career in special effects could be on the cards with a background in media make-up."
