A YOUNG Widnes rugby team achieved their first win of the season against arch rivals Warrington.
Moorfield U9s belatedly kick-started their season with an eight tries to three win, with Joe Woods and Daniel Stapleton (both pictured) among the scorers. Delighted coach Lee Woods said: "I'm really pleased for them because most of them have only been playing for a season and put a lot of hard work in to get this first win.
"Hopefully there will be many more!"
Butchers James Wilkinson and Christine Lunt, helped beef up the club's funds with a cheque for £50, and at a presentation night tomorrow (Thursday), a signed shirt by Jim Mills will be up for grabs.
