A FURIOUS mum has invited a petty thief who stole brand new garden furniture, bought for her son who has Downs Syndrome, to pay a return visit... as he forgot the screws and teak oil.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, is still fuming about the theft which took place more than a week later.
"Our garden is at the front of the house and we have always resisted having wooden furniture," she said.
"Now we are going to have to revert to plastic again," she said.
She is convinced that a van must have been used in the pre-planned theft as it took three car journeys for her to bring it back from the store where they bought it.
"When we got up on Friday morning (June 18), there wasn't a stick left. They even took the box.
"I felt absolutely sick. My son really liked sitting outside, enjoying the sun. It's a horrible world when people can do things like this.
If you know where the furniture may be, or if it has been offered to you contact the police on 0151 777 6068 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
