SIXTY years on from the Allied victories in Europe and Japan which brought the Second World War to its end, the Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich Guardians will be publishing a special souvenir book to mark the anniversary.
Part of the book will feature the stories of our readers who can recall that momentous period in our history - those who perhaps served in one or more of the theatres of war together with those who laboured on the home front to ensure victory over the Nazis, the axis powers and the Japanese.
Readers are therefore invited to send in any memories they have of the war years for inclusion in this publication.
Simply write them down and add your name, address and telephone number so that we can contact you if we need to add anything to the story or take a photograph.
In addition, if you do have any photographs taken during the war years, we would like to borrow them - and promise to take good care of them.
If you would prefer to bring them to our office personally, they can be scanned for publication on the spot and then you can take them away with you.
The publication will appear in March next year and will be a unique localised record of the years from 1939 to 1945.
Send your memories to Gina Bebbington here at the Guardian. You can contact Gina on 01606 813620.
