THE November meeting was the annual meeting, which ended with a mystery entertainment crafted by members and drawing on the Wombles and local events.
At the meeting, members reflected on the year and elected committee members to arrange another exciting year for them.
The year's events were revisited. During the year members donned overalls and crossed farmers' fields on quad bikes, 10 members are half way through a computer course, there has been a workshop on cane and rush seating and basketry, a photography course and reading group.
There was a trip on one of the wonders of the English canal system, the Anderton Boat Lift, a visit to the Lowry Centre at Salford Quays and an evening at Westage Farm garden at Great Budworth, together with the regular monthly walk.
Speakers' subjects ranged from weeds and herbal remedies to gem stones, from country customs to saris, from Quarry Bank Mill to Chester Zoo.
The group hosted the WI group meeting in the spring and marvelled at the skill of a floral arranger while being amused by her lively repartee. At the autumn group meeting, the hall resounded to the strains of music hall and many hats were worn.
The meeting scheduled for December 1 is a Christmas meal at The Bear's Paw in the village.
Many members and some visitors will be there and more may come along afterwards to enjoy the Christmas festivities.
Meetings take place in Warmingham Village Hall at 7.30pm. Ring 01606 737037 for details.
