This weekend and next engage Super League supporters will be able to get directly involved with the competition's campaign to support and encourage organ donation in the UK.

All 12 clubs in the League are working in partnership with UK Transplant to promote the important message that organ donation plays a life-saving role within the health service.

And during Rounds 19 and 20 of the competition, all supporters attending matches will have the chance to find out more information about the important initiative and pick up leaflets at their clubs' stadium which will help them sign on to the UK's organ donation register.

The engage Super League's support for organ donation is now well underway after being launched as UK Transplant celebrates its 10th anniversary. The agency is aiming to get a further 1 million people to sign up to the organ donor register in 2005.

Commenting on the engage Super League's support of organ donation, the RFL's Director of Development and Marketing Gary Tasker said:

"The engage Super League welcomes this opportunity to support what is an extremely important and valuable element of healthcare in Britain.

"We would encourage all supporters attending engage Super League fixtures this weekend to use the opportunity to find out more information and offer whatever support they can give.

Tasker added: "We believe our partnership with UK Transplant can greatly assist them in reaching their targets for 2005".

Jayne Fisher, Transplant Coordinator for the NHS Yorkshire Region, said, "The aim of these engage Super League focus weekends is to get the general public to help by not only signing up with the Organ Donor Register but also by discussing their wishes with their families. Rugby League is a family focused sport and it provides an ideal audience to promote this important message to".

"There are currently over 8,000 people in the UK waiting for an organ transplant. Many of these people will become either too ill or tragically die before they get the chance to receive an organ.

"You are more likely to need a transplant than to be an organ donor. Carrying a card is not enough - sign on to the NHS Organ Donor Register today".

engage Super League Round 19 takes place on the weekend commencing Friday 1st July with Round 20 commencing Friday 8th July.

Supporters can also register for organ donation through www.superleague.co.uk or by calling 0845 6060400.
