PLANS to round up abandoned shopping trolleys from Asda Birchwood are being considered.

Birchwood Town Council has voiced concerns over the number of trolleys which are abandoned at the Asda store and says it 'continues to be a major local problem'.

The store is now looking at a number of solutions to tackle the issue, including a wheel locking system, and installing a type of magnetic field to stop the trolleys from being taken too far away from the store.
