A PUBLIC inquiry will be held at the beginning of next year into the controversial status of the land on Stocks Lane in Great Sankey.
Great Sankey parish councillors announced at their last meeting that David Manley QC will be chairing the inquiry to determine whether the land is actually a village green which would protect the area from any potential building work including United Utilities’ proposed siting of a sewage tank.
The inquiry, understood to be held at The Halliwell Jones stadium, will take place between January 4 and January 6.
