The Easter period of Super League in upon us again and from a spectators point of view it's a great time for Rugby League.

The Easter period is packed full of game upon game and local derby after local derby, it's the time of year i enjoy myself because i love the amount of coverage the game gets on SKY t.v.

From a players point of view its a very tough and physical time! 2 games within 4 days is a big ask. Over the last 4 years the Easter games have always been disappointing, but we have always really kicked on after the Easter period.

At the moment we have won our last 3 games and we'll be going into these games with some momentum, which is always a bonus and its always good for confidence. Personally i think form counts for nothing in these games because of the physical demand of 2 games in 4 days. All teams will be struggling to play 17 fully fit and heathy players and there will be plenty of players playing with injuries.

This week at training as been pretty short and sharp so that we are going into the Easter games fresh mentally and physically. We have looked at the little things we need to improve and after looking at the video from the York game we feel we need to tighten up on our defense.

We have practiced very basic skills such as communication and looking at our spaces in the defensive line. All the basic skills are quite easy to do when you play rugby league but to do them when your tired, can't breathe and have been whacked around the head a few times is another story, but its something we need to practice and get used to doing.

Tony Smith looks at every single detail in a game of rugby league and he is very good at knowing why things break down in a game and more often then not its the basic skills that have cost us.

So when we do review on a Monday morning Tony will explain why he thinks the play or defense as failed and then he will explain what he thinks should happen and if we agree.

This week the big topic as been Martin Gleeson going to Wigan Warriors. I am sure there are plenty Warrington fans sad to see Martin leave the Wolves, he's been a big player for us over the last 4 and a half years.

I don't think there as been a season gone by that his winger hasn't been in the top 3 try scorers and also Martin as scored some fantastic tries his self, the one at the Halliwell Jones stadium against Bradford in 2008 springs to mind.

I was gutted to see Martin leave Warrington because not only was he a quality player but i have no one to travel over to Warrington with! In the 10 years i have played at Warrington this is the only time i have not had a traveling partner!

Looks like i might have to move over to Warrington and stay with Benny Westwood...... i hear he makes the best SPAM fritters this side of the pennines.

Enjoy the easter period and speak soon, Woody.
