WHEN a person is accused of committing a sexual offence they can expect several things to happen.

l To be arrested.

l Have intimate samples taken and be examined for unusual scars, marks and tattoos.

l To be interviewed by trained officers.

l If someone is charged they are likely to be placed on remand in prison.
