A WARRINGTON Music Festival fundraising event will be held at The Pyramid this Friday.

The show, featuring music, dance and drama students from Warrington Collegiate, Priestley College and Sir Thomas Boteler Secondary School, has been organised by Warrington Music Collective.

Steve Oates, organiser, said: “We held a similar event back in April and it was a great success.

“The thinking behind it is that, we might very well have the next Paul McCartney and John Lennon, Ginger Rogers and Fred Astair... Cannon and Ball! in Warrington right now. But if they go to different schools or colleges then there is a good chance they will never meet.

“We're trying to remove any existing barriers and rivalry and bring together the town’s future artists and performers.

“The tutors and teachers are working very hard to help the project. They're putting together performances that encourage co-operation between the establishments.

“We'll be looking to involve more schools as it develops, over time and hope to establish the event as an annual showcase.”

Doors open at 7pm and entry is £4 / £3.50 concessions.
