AN independent coffee shop offering New York-style bagels is coming to Warrington.
Porter’s Coffee Co will officially open at 135 Marsh House Lane in Padgate this Friday, August 7.
Owner Lauren Porter is aiming to create a welcoming space that will soon become part of the Padgate community.
She chose the venue due to its ‘real neighbourhood feel’.
The 31-year-old fell in love with coffee culture after spending three years in Australia.
"Coffee shops over there are much more than somewhere to grab a drink.
"They're places where people meet, work and spend time together, with a real focus on quality," Lauren told the Warrington Guardian.
"It made me appreciate just how much of a difference great coffee and a welcoming atmosphere can make.
"That experience definitely inspired the vision for Porter's Coffee Co and the kind of place we wanted to create back home."
Lauren has always been on the hunt for big New York-style bagels, and she felt like this is something the area was missing.
So she wanted to bring something different alongside great coffee.
Porter’s Coffee Co will offer bagels, matcha, iced drinks, tater tots, and homemade cinnamon swirls – a recipe perfected by Lauren.
There will be everything from breakfast bagels to pastrami Reubens, hot honey chicken, and vegan options.
"I'm a massive foodie myself, so quality has always been the biggest thing for me," Lauren, who is from Widnes, said.
"I didn't want to open somewhere that was just doing the same as everyone else or doing things half-heartedly.
"My obsession with cinnamon swirls actually started from making them at home, and over time I've really perfected the recipe.
"I honestly can't wait for people to try them.
"Everything on the menu is something I'd genuinely want to eat or drink myself, and I hope that's what makes Porter's Coffee Co stand out."
Porter’s Coffee Co will be open on Fridays and Saturdays between 7.30am and 3pm and on Sundays from 9am to 3pm.
