A THEATRE group celebrated a string of recognitions at its annual awards event.

The Three Towns, fresh from their production of The Yeomen of the Guard at St Joseph's Hall in Leigh, gathered at Culcheth Village Club for the event.

Long Service Awards were presented to several members for their dedication to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA).

Allen Christey-Casson was recognised for 60 years of service, while Steve Brennan, Susan Bradley, and Ken and Gill Rees were honoured for 50 years.

Elsie Murphy and Catherine Kay marked 45 years, Susan Shaw and Elsa McGhee 30 years, Fran Davies 25 years, and Paul Dainton 15 years.

The evening also offered an opportunity for the society to reflect on recent awards from other organisations.

NODA named the group Best Concert for their November 2025 performances and Phil Boardman as Best Musical Director.

Pamela-Heywood Connor and John Matthias, playing Rosalinda and Gabriel Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, were also recognised as Best Comedy Duo.

The Association of Community Theatre (ACT) awarded the society Most Accomplished Vocal Ensemble in Musical Comedy.

Victoria Goulden, playing Adele, was named Most Accomplished Supporting Actress in Musical Comedy, and Ken Rees, as Frank, secured the Most Accomplished Character Performance Actor in Musical Comedy award.

Looking forward, The Three Towns are in rehearsal for their annual concerts scheduled for Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21, at St Joseph's Hall.

Performing a range of songs from Broadway, the West End, and classical music, the event promises a laid-back cabaret atmosphere.

The society, known for its spring operettas and autumn concert series, conducts choir rehearsals on Tuesday evenings at Tyldesley Methodist Church.

Their repertoire includes a variety of musical styles, with past successes such as The Gipsy Baron, La Belle Helene, and Orpheus in the Underworld.

Audiences can also enjoy performances accompanied by a professional orchestra, with the society placing a strong emphasis on musical quality, harmony, and chorus content.

The Three Towns aim to deliver top-notch performances, with their autumn concerts featuring a wide variety of musical styles.
