AN inquest is now open into the death of a man at a supported living setting in Warrington.

Tom Alan Bethell was discovered dead at The Academy, Bridge Street, on Sunday, August 3.

Cheshire Coroner's Court has heard how the 35-year-old had a history of medication misuse.

An inquest is now open into the death after an initial hearing at the coroner's court this week.

Victoria Davies, the area coroner, adjourned for a further, final hearing on January 26, 2026.

The police coroner's officer said: "The reason for the inquest is an unnatural cause of death.

"It is requested that the inquest be opened and adjourned for further work to be completed."

Ms Davies said: "Given the unnatural cause of death it is appropriate for me to open and adjourn the inquest for further work to be completed."
