A WOMAN from Lymm who left her career of 20 years for her new business has been nominated for a regional award.
Jo Helsby, who lives in Lymm, decided to start her own business called Perfect Order in 2020.
The 39-year-old goes to peoples’ homes to help declutter and organise their house, often working with people struggling with bereavement and new mums.
In the past four years, Jo has seen such success that she has expanded to also offer marketing support.
Earlier this year, Jo decided to take the leap and leave her job in recruitment where she had built a 20-year-long career.
“I have had quite a big year this year as I decided to leave my recruitment career,” she said.
“It’s exactly what I wanted, I wanted to work for myself, I wanted to choose when I work, who I worked for and the hours that I worked.
“[Recruitment is] a soul-destroying job, quite frankly. It’s very very tough. I learnt lots of good skills that are transferrable, it was just not a sustainable career for me long term.”
Now, Jo works for her business full time and has been nominated for Rising Star of the Year at Crème De La Crème Cheshire Business Awards.
“It’s quite an honour being nominated,” she said.
“I was delighted that my hard work is paying off.”
The award ceremony will be held on November 15 at Cranage Hall in Holmes Chapel, which Jo is planning to attend with a friend who is also nominated for an award.
