A MAN was taken to hospital after emergency services attended reports of a stabbing.

Officers from Cheshire Police and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service attended Birchwood following calls over an incident on Sunday night.

After arriving at the scene on Whitethroat Walk at around 9pm, a 30-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

A suspect – a 33-year-old man – was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm or wounding with intent and released on bail.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around 9pm on Sunday, May 19, police were called to reports of a stabbing in Whitethroat Walk, Birchwood.

“Officers and paramedics attended the scene, and a 30-year-old man was taken to hospital.

“A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and has been released on conditional bail.”
