A MAN from Great Sankey had the opportunity to feel like a rockstar as he was picked from a crowd of 21,000 people to perform on stage with Nickleback.

Jack Ashcroft, 20, bought a ticket to see Nickleback perform at the AO Arena in Manchester on Monday night.

After arriving to the venue early to get as close as he could to the stage, Jack was spotted amongst other fans by Chad Kroger, the lead singer, who noted that his long hair was similar to his own in 2004.

The 20-year-old had in fact cut his hair and grew a goatee before the concert as an ode to the lead singer.

Jack, who is from Great Sankey, was then given a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform Rockstar on stage with the band, despite never performing on stage before.

“It was the first song I ever heard of theirs,” he said.

“I had a great time, and it was a dream come true.”

The lifelong fan performed the song in front of the entire arena with the band and says that the experience was a bit of a blur.

“I don’t really remember much of the performance except walking out and hyping up the crowd,” he said.

“It was a thrill that I have never experience before.

“My phone has been blowing up with people asking about it.”

While he might not remember much of being on stage, Jack says that plenty of people in the crowd captured the moment and have sent him videos of his performance.
