LONG-AWAITED highway works in the centre of Lymm begin next month.

The setts on Pepper Street and its surrounding roads will be replaced during the 20-week programme of works which are due to begin on Monday, June 17.

This follows a long period of consultation between residents and Warrington Borough Council.

Work will be carried out in four phases.

The first will take place on Longbutt Lane with closures between 8am and 5.30pm for one to two weeks;

Phase two will be the Pepper Street works closure from 7pm to 1am up to school summer holidays;

Phase three will see Pepper Street closed 24/7 from the start of the school summer holidays until completion of sett paved area;

Phase four will affect Longbutt Lane 8am to 5.30pm for one to two weeks, however closures will be in place as detailed and when signed on site and dates/details will also be confirmed at warrington.gov.uk/pepper-street-lymm.

Access will be under the control of the relevant contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Orchard Avenue, Longbutt Lane, Scholars Green Lane, Grammar School Road, Higher Lane, Rectory Lane and vice versa.
