THIS award-winning Warrington firm has ‘transformed’ a neglected event space into a thriving 3000-capacity social hub which has officially launched.

DV8 Designs, a renowned design company specialising in the regeneration of neglected spaces, has put its creative stamp on yet another successful project - Salt and Tar in Sefton.

The event space recently launched and marks a significant milestone in the regeneration of Bootle, Merseyside, and will provide a welcome space for residents to enjoy live entertainment, cultural events and monthly street food socials.

Leveraging DV8 Designs’ expertise in breathing new life into former forgotten and unloved spaces, Salt and Tar has been meticulously transformed into a dynamic, commercially viable, and sustainable new neighbourhood destination.

Lee Birchall, managing director at the Warrington-based DV8 Designs, said: “We are proud to have led the design of this transformative project.

“Our collaboration with Sefton Council has enabled us to reimagine Salt and Tar as a place that not only meets the needs of the local community, but also drives footfall from the surrounding regions and fosters a wider economic growth.”

This new, iconic food, drink, social and events destination is a perfect example of design rooted in environmental sustainability, with stacked containers creating a unique ambience, combining rustic finishes with recycled structures and materials.

The interior design incorporates feature lighting that accentuates the space and pays homage to Bootle's industrial past and the town’s rich industrial heritage with the Brotherton’s Tar Distillery on Hawthorne Road and the area’s historic link to the salt trade.

Salt and Tar’s strategic location and thoughtful design elements curated by DV8 Designs have revitalised the area, attracting residents, visitors, community groups and businesses alike.

And by reimagining the space using a vibrant mix of colourful and upcycled elements, complimented by rooftop gardens and playful graphics, Salt and Tar has become a catalyst for positive change, breathing new life into the heart of Bootle.

This is another notch on the belt for the Warrington design firm which is building an established reputation within the leisure, commercial and food and drink sectors.
