A MAN from Padgate appeared in Liverpool Crown Court for trial facing 11 different charges, including rape of a child.
Neal Hatton, of Vulcan Close, appeared in court on the first day of his trial on Monday, May 20.
The prosecution opened the case by telling the jury that Hatton, 37, raped the victim and forced them to touch his genitals over his clothing.
The victim, who is under the age of 16, can not be named for legal reasons
The jury were also told that forensic evidence would be given as part of the trial, including DNA of the victim which was found in his shorts.
Hatton has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The case continues.
