A CHINESE takeaway in Warrington town centre has been handed a one-star food hygiene rating.
The ratings are issued by the Food Standards Agency and are made publicly available online.
China Red takeaway, on Mersey Street, was inspected on April 5, with the visit determining that ‘major improvement was necessary’.
Areas of the inspection that were analysed and graded by inspectors includes hygiene food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety.
Following the routine inspection, the standards agency found that ‘major improvement’ was necessary in terms of the management of food safety at the establishment.
Meanwhile, both areas of cleanliness and hygienic food handling were rated as ‘improvement necessary’.
