THE trial date for a murder-accused youth has been vacated.

The case of the 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named or identified for legal reasons, was heard before Liverpool Crown Court today, Wednesday.

He has been charged with the murder of Chintzia McIntyre in Chapelford.

Detectives launched a murder investigation following the death and a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection to the incident.

A youth was charged with murder two days later and his case has since been heard before Warrington Magistrates’’ Court and Liverpool Crown Court a number of times.

A trial date was provisionally set for January 29, but it was then pushed back to June.

Today, the honorary recorder of Liverpool Judge Andrew Menary KC vacated the trial date and adjourned the case to Monday, June 24, for a mention hearing.

The prosecution was represented by Gordon Cole KC and the defence was represented by Tim Clark KC.

No new trial date has yet been set.
