A PENSIONER was injured in a crash which saw emergency services attend.

Cheshire Police, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service attended the incident in Callands yesterday morning, Thursday.

The incident occurred at around 11.15am on Callands Road and involved a car and a traffic barrier.

The driver of the car – an 86-year-old man – suffered a leg laceration and was treated at the scene by ambulance crews.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around 11.16am on Thursday, April 11, officers, along with fire and ambulance crews, responded to reports of a road traffic collision in Warrington.

“Attending the scene on Callands Road, officers found that a green Kia Niro had collided with a traffic barrier.

“The driver of the vehicle, an 86-year-old man from Great Sankey, received a laceration to his leg and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

“There were no other reported injuries as a result of incident and no arrests have been made.”
