A YEAR three pupil and football fanatic is taking on an 80-mile bike ride challenge, riding to all four north west premiere league stadiums in just two days.

Harvey Goodman, an inspirational eight-year-old, is taking on the major challenge to raise £5,000 to pay for a bike storage shelter for his school - Stockton Heath Primary.

No stranger to fundraising, Harvey has in the last few years completed two charitable challenges and has raised more than £37,000 for good causes.

And next month will see him complete his third challenge in his short lifetime, with 400 of his fellow peers from school set to join him on the 80-mile feat.

Speaking on his latest fundraising event, Harvey said: “I'm super excited about riding my bike for 80 miles.

“It's going to be a big adventure, and I can't wait to help our school get new bike sheds. Riding with my friends and knowing we're making a difference makes me feel really happy and proud."

Starting on May 4, Harvey and his army of Stockton Heath Primary pupils will set off from the school and ride eight miles to the Catalyst Museum in Widnes, before going onto the Eagle & Child pub in Liverpool. Another 10-mile ride will bring him to his first stadium, Goodison Park, home to Everton Football Club.

A short one-mile ride after that will bring him to his next major pit stop, Anfield Stadium, home to Liverpool Football Club.

His route will then take him along to The Ferry Tavern pub in Penketh and loop back to Stockton Heath Primary to complete day one of his challenge.

An achy 14-mile ride will bring him to his third stadium, the Etihad in Manchester before reaching the finish line at his favourite club’s grounds – Old Trafford.

Reflecting on her son’s determination at such a young age, mum Naiomi said: “As a mum, witnessing my son take on this incredible 80-mile cycling challenge over two days fills me with immense pride.

“His determination to raise funds for new bike sheds at his school reflects his selflessness and commitment to creating a healthier and more eco-friendly environment for all students. I couldn't be more inspired by his initiative and dedication to making a positive impact in our community."

The eight-year-old, from Stockton Heath, is a valuable member of the school council has spoke of being ‘passionate about promoting safe, healthy, and eco-friendly ways to travel to school’.

“By providing safe and secure bike storage at his school, Harvey hopes to inspire more children to cycle to school,” Naiomi added.

Head teacher at Stockton Heath Primary, Dan Harding, added: "It’s fantastic to see Harvey willing to take on such an undertaking. This is a very challenging distance over two days for a year three pupil.

“Harvey is so keen to help school for the benefit of his friends and fellow pupils in any way he can and this year his fundraising will be put towards purchasing more bike sheds to encourage more of our children to ride or scoot to school."
